Conyers police are offering a reward for information leading to a man who they say used a 13-year-old girl as an accomplice in an armed robbery.

Calvin Smith, 20, is wanted in connection with the incident, which happened May 24 at the Briar Creek Apartments, according to Conyers police.

The teen girl set up a “date” with the robbery victim, 46-year-old Marcelino Leiva, police spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Lucas confirmed. When the girl went into an apartment, Smith and another man pulled a gun on Leiva, Lucas said. They stole cash and his phone, according to police.

Lucas said Leiva called police to report the incident. He was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge and booked into the Rockdale County Jail. He was released on $870.50 bond, according to jail records. The 13-year-old girl was also taken into custody.

Investigators are not sure if Smith has committed similar robberies, according to Lucas. She said no other victims have come forward.

Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts is urged to contact Conyers police. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
