Van crashes into house during police chase; driver in custody

Fayette County deputies arrested a man Wednesday they were seeking on kidnapping charges out of Newnan.

But not before 32-year-old Jeremy Harrison led them on a chase and crashed into a home in the 1500 block of the Highway 85 Connector, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Deputies went to Harrison’s home to serve the warrant but he wasn’t there, the station reported. He was spotted soon after, and a chase ensued.

Deputies used stop sticks, and Harrison crashed into the house after crossing the sticks, the station reported.

Cody Harrison and Benjamin Moody were in Moody’s house watching television when Jeremy Harrison came crashing in.

“We heard the sirens,” Moody said. “They cut off at the top of the hill. We were looking at each other like, ‘Why did they cut off?’”

They soon found out.

“Guy gets out of the car and tried to run,” Cody Harrison said. “Police tagged him.”

Jeremy Harrison will face kidnapping and other charges, deputies said.

Moody said he has known the suspect since the second grade and said he has had frequent run-ins with authorities.

“Ever since we got out of high school,” Moody said.
