A triple shooting in southwest Atlanta early Saturday morning left a man in critical condition and a suspect in the Fulton County Jail, police confirmed.

Around 1 a.m., Atlanta police responded to a call of a man being shot in the 100 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee said.

Officers found a 37-year-old man who had been shot several times, and he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Chafee said.

Police believe the suspect and victim were involved in an altercation, and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times, Chafee said. Afterward, an unknown man pulled out a gun and began shooting at the suspect, who entered a black Cadillac and drove away.

Shortly afterward, Ronnie Dunn, 27, of Fayetteville, and an unnamed woman arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds, and police determined Dunn was the suspect who shot the 37-year-old man, Chafee said.

He was arrested, charged with aggravated assault with intent to murder and remains in the Fulton County Jail without bond, according to jail records.

An investigation is ongoing.
