THE YEAR OF KATT

A look at Atlanta comedian Katt Williams’ brushes with the law in 2016:

Feb. 28: Williams and about 15 members of his entourage and security team were accused of physically attacking and stealing cellphones from five women who were visiting Atlanta for the weekend.

Feb. 29: Williams was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge in Gainesville after a pool supply store employee told authorities he was punched during an argument.

March 8: Williams was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his bodyguard Feb. 28. Authorities said Williams and two acquaintances allegedly confined and assaulted Corey Dixon. "It's our understanding that Mr. Williams was encouraging our victim, Mr. Dixon, to engage in some criminal activity in the Atlanta area," a Hall County sheriff's spokesman said. On March 9, authorities said Williams had violated the condition of a previous bond.

March 11: Williams was transferred to the Fulton County jail from Hall County. He was charged with entering an auto, theft by taking and simple battery in connection with the cellphone incident.

March: 12: "I am just like most Christians, under daily attack, but somehow holding up well," Williams said after being released on bond from the Fulton County jail.

March 23: A video showed Williams in a fight with an Atlanta teenager. He was in the Atlanta projects handing out cash and allegedly threw the first punch.

April 27: Williams allegedly threw a salt shaker at a restaurant manager in East Point, bloodying the man's lip. Police responded to the incident at Spondivits on Virginia Avenue, then found Williams at a nearby Waffle House. He was booked on a battery charge.

Sept. 15: Williams was jailed in Fulton County on a charge of criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Dec. 2: Williams was banned from Hall and Dawson counties and ordered to pay $7,500 in restitution and perform 100 hours of community service in a negotiated deal after pleading no contest to some charges in connection with the alleged February assault against his bodyguard.
