Authorities are asking the public for help identifying a teenager wanted in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault last month in Lawrenceville.

Lawrenceville police are looking to identify a teenager accused of forcing his way into a home last month and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old.

The attack occurred May 24 in the area of Northdale and Hurricane Shoals roads, police said Friday.

According to investigators, the suspect broke in through a front window of the home, went to the victim’s bedroom and sexually assaulted her. The girl told police she screamed and scratched the suspect until he fled.

“It is believed the two may have known each other because the suspect reportedly told her, ‘It’s me,’” police said in a news release.

The victim told investigators she isn’t sure who attacked her.

Surveillance footage posted online appears to show the suspect entering and leaving the home through a screened-in porch. He is believed to be between 14 and 17 years old.

Anyone who recognizes the teen or has information about the case is asked to call investigators at 770-670-5111.
