A teen was shot and killed early Saturday while attending a house party in Snellville, Gwinnett County police said.
About 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a house in the 2900 block of Aviator Circle after they received a report of shots being fired, police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said.
The male victim was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head, Washington said. He was identified as Jahlah Branch, 17, of Lithonia.
The person who shot the victim and others left the scene, and police have no definitive description of the shooter at this time, Washington said.
Multiple shots were fired during a dispute at the party, which was attended by about 100 people, Washington said.
“Our primary objective at this point is to conduct a thorough investigation and paint a clear picture for exactly what led to this homicide,” Washington said. “We strongly urge any parent in this area whose kids may have been at the party to come forward to police.”
