After surveillance video was released in December of a Cobb County carjacking where a woman tried to stop the suspect by throwing her shoes at him, tips came pouring into police.
On Wednesday, Austell police announced they made an arrest, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Jaquavious Andre Jones, 18, was booked into jail Tuesday and faces charges of hijacking a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm during the commission of a theft and theft by taking, according to Cobb jail records.
The carjacking happened at a gas station on Jefferson Street, which is right across from the Austell police station, AJC.com previously reported.

Jones is accused of approaching the woman outside her car and saying, “Ma’am, can I ask you something?” He then allegedly flashed a gun and demanded her keys.
Despite giving him the keys, the woman is seen throwing her shoes at the carjacker, banging her hands on the trunk and attempting to open a passenger door.
Police Lt. Sharon Davis told the news station that someone recognized Jones from a previous arrest and notified them.
Investigators are trying to determine if he’s connected to other violent crimes in metro Atlanta, but it appears he worked by himself for this carjacking, she said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Jones remained in the Cobb County Jail without bond, jail records show.
