Authorities are searching for three suspects accused of pulling a gun on a Cherokee County homeowner who confronted them in his driveway overnight.

Deputies were dispatched to the Eagle Watch subdivision near Woodstock about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said.

The resident told them he saw three men looking inside his vehicles before one of them pointed a gun at him. They got into a white Jeep Cherokee and left the neighborhood, Baker said.

Deputies put out a description of the suspects’ vehicle and a Woodstock police officer spotted the SUV traveling east on Towne Lake Parkway, authorities said.

The suspects led police on I-575 and eventually I-75 at speeds of more than 100 mph, Baker said. The chase was called off near downtown Atlanta as traffic grew denser and deputies began losing radio contact.
