A father is in custody after one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Tuesday, DeKalb County police said.
Two children, ages 3 and 1, witnessed the shooting, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The incident, which happened in the 1300 block of Kimlie Lane, began with an argument between the father and the new boyfriend of the mother, Channel 2 reported.
The boyfriend, who was 32 years old, was shot in a car and died, Channel 2 reported. The mother’s brother tried to break up the fight and was also shot. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
The mother, the men who were shot and the two children had tried to get away in their car, but the alleged shooter reloaded and fired at them, Channel 2 reported.
The station reported that one of the two children belonged to the suspect. DeKalb police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore said he surrendered to police.
Authorities did not release identities.
