Clayton County authorities Tuesday apprehended an armed robbery suspect accused of shooting his victim in the back of the head.

The victim lost an eye and the suspect, Brandon Miguel Tillery, got only $40, officials said.

In an online alert distributed Tuesday via Twitter, Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill announced that Tillery was arrested at his home by members of the sheriff’s office SWAT team, the Riverdale Police Department and the Clayton County Fugitives Task Force.

He was charged in connection with a Sept. 1 robbery in which he allegedly “shot the victim in the back of the head with a .380 caliber handgun.” The victim survived but lost an eye.

The location of the robbery was unclear, as were the charges were filed against Tillery. As of early Tuesday afternoon, he had not appeared in Clayton County jail logs.
