A 20-year-old man has been arrested in an alleged hit-and-run accident on Interstate 20 in Atlanta.

Atlanta police arrested Antonio Andrews on charges that he fatally struck a man on I-20 early on New Year’s morning and drove away.

Andrews was arrested Monday and held in the Fulton County jail on charges of felony homicide with a vehicle, felony hit and run, and failure to maintain lane.

Andrews, whose arrest came six days after his 20th birthday, is accused of running over a 30-year-old man at about 2:15 a.m. Friday on the west-bound interstate near the Hamilton E. Holmes exit.

The victim, whom police have not yet identified — had exited his vehicle after becoming involved in a fender-bender on the highway, and was struck by an unknown vehicle that sped away, police said. The man died at the scene.
