A person in Walton County was hurt when hit by a falling tree Sunday.

Strong winds blew down the large tree in the area of Thoroughbred Trail in Monroe, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. The unidentified person it hit has non-life-threatening injuries.

Walton County is included in a large part of the state under a wind advisory Sunday. Wind speeds of 35 mph have been reported across the region.  Officials said fallen trees have caused damage and traffic delays in Bartow County and Coweta County.
