A drive-by shooting left one man dead and another injured in south Fulton County, police said.

About 10:40 p.m. Sunday, authorities went to the Old Virginia Condominiums on Shannon Parkway and found Garrett Hicks with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and another with non-life-threatening injuries, Union City police Officer Chris Murphy told Channel 2 Action News.

“Preliminary indications seem to suggest that this incident was not a random act of violence as one or both of the victims was targeted for a yet to be determined motive,” he said.

Hicks, 25, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center South, where he died.

The other man was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

“The investigation into the events that led up to the shooting is ongoing and investigators are following up on promising leads,” Murphy said.
