Two men wearing yellow scarves on their faces grabbed handfuls of purses during a smash-and-grab burglary early Tuesday at a Buckhead store.

The burglary happened at Neiman Marcus Last Call in the 3500 block of Peachtree Road while several employees were in the rear of the store, Officer Kim Jones with Atlanta police said.

An employee told police he heard a large thud about 6:30 a.m. and when he walked to the front of the store, he watched as two men grabbed purses and ran outside, according to police. The front glass window of the store had been shattered with a large rock.

The two suspects were described as being around 6 feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds, and wearing all black along with scarves on their faces, according to police. One was wearing a black fisherman’s hat.

Witnesses reported a third suspect outside the store was wearing a yellow shirt with beige pants, according to police. Investigators believe two vehicles may have been involved in the burglary, including a silver Hyundai Sonata and possibly a red Dodge Dart. Both vehicles were last seen turning south onto Peachtree Road.

Investigators were reviewing security cameras from inside and outside of the store.
