Curtis Billue, a dedicated public servant and military veteran, was one of two officers shot to death Tuesday when two prisoners escaped from a transport bus in Putnam County.
“He was the uncle in the military that you looked to as the big, strong uncle,” said Stephanie Bridges, Billue’s niece.

The two escaped inmates, Ricky Dubose, 24, and Donnie Russell Rowe, 43, were still at large as of late Wednesday morning.
