Two people were shot early Tuesday when intruders forced their way into a DeKalb County residence, police said.

About 1 a.m., police responded to the 4200 block of Rue Dartagnan, spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. During the incident, a man knocked on the door, and when a woman answered, two people forced their way into the residence, Campbell said.

The intruders ransacked the residence and left without taking anything, police said.

The 57-year-old woman had a hand wound, and a 27-year-old man was injured in the leg.

The residents were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with wounds that were not considered life threatening, Campbell said. The investigation is ongoing.
