A man shot outside a northwest Atlanta gas station collapsed at a restaurant across the street, police said.

The man was seen going in and out of the Chevron on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway multiple times before he was approached by two men in a black Jaguar and shot in the stomach about 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Atlanta police Capt. Clif Johnson said.

“The victim ran across the street to the Checkers parking lot where he collapsed with a gunshot wound to the stomach,” Johnson said.

The man sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Police said the injured man has not been cooperating with authorities.

“He gave us a false name on the scene,” Johnson said.
