The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attempted kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman just east of Lake Lanier.

Deputies responded to a call around 7:30 p.m. Friday and found emergency personnel treating the woman in the 5200 block of Flat Creek Road, sheriff’s spokesman Derreck Booth told Channel 2 Action News.

During the initial investigation, deputies said they learned that the woman was walking along the road when an unknown man stopped and tried to force her into his car. The woman fought back and screamed for help, but the man was still able to push her inside the car and close the door, Booth said. She managed to escape and the man drove away.

The woman was left with a bruised eye, a bloody nose and ear, and multiple cuts, according to the sheriff’s office. She was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and later released.

Authorities have not made an arrest in the case or released a description of the man.
