Newton County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an allegation that a student was videotaped in a school restroom and that the video was posted to Snapchat.

The parent of a student at Clements Middle School in Covington told officials that his daughter was videotaped while she was using a school restroom Feb. 15, according to the sheriff’s incident report.

The daughter said that while she sat in a restroom stall, two other girls came into the restroom, according to the report. One of the students used a cellphone to take a video, and the other posted the video to Snapchat, the report said.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the girls have been punished.
