Roofer dies in fall from Canton flower shop

A 22-year-old worker died Friday when he fell from the roof of a Cherokee County business.

Thomas Williams. of Tennille, fell 20 feet to the concrete floor around 9 a.m. while installing a new roof for Custom Floral Design on 2300 Airport Industrial Dr. in Canton, according to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.

He later died at Northside Cherokee Hospital. Both the sheriff and OSHA are investigating.
