The municipal court clerk in Ringgold was arrested Tuesday on theft and other related charges.

Tracy Alan Bass, 52, of Fort Oglethorpe, was charged with theft by taking, computer forgery, tampering with evidence and interference with government property, said Joe Montgomery, Georgia Bureau of Investigation assistant special agent in charge.

The GBI launched the investigation on Dec. 3 at the request of the Catoosa County district attorney’s office and Ringgold police after there were allegations of missing court fees and fine money in the city clerk’s office.

Bass was booked into Catoosa County jail and released on bond. The investigation continues.
