Police are asking the public for help locating a repeat customer accused of holding up a northwest Atlanta grocery store in the middle of the day several weeks ago.

Investigators said the suspect, identified as Boss Alena, robbed the Simpson Mart on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard about 3:30 p.m Nov. 30 after pulling out a gun and forcing the store’s clerk into the bathroom.

Police said Alena stole $2,000 from the register before unplugging the store’s computer monitor and recording system, throwing them into the back of an older pickup truck and driving off.

On Tuesday, investigators released surveillance footage of the incident, which appears to show the suspect disconnecting the store’s electronics with an unlit cigarette in his mouth.

The clerk told police Alena was a regular customer who got upset after losing money on the slot machines a few days before the robbery. He was last seen driving away in a gray Dodge Ram with license plate ROC6485, according to an incident report.
