A traffic stop for an expired vehicle tag in Putnam County last week led to the arrest of a man wanted on indecent exposure accusations in a Walmart store last week in Henry County.

Willie Adams, 43, of Perry was arrested Aug. 28 during a traffic stop in Putnam County, according to a news release Friday from Henry County police Lt. Mike Ireland.

Adams was sought by police Aug. 27 after a 16-year-old girl said a man exposed himself to her in the Walmart on North Henry Boulevard in Stockbridge, Henry police said.

Adams has outstanding warrants in several counties, according to Henry police. Henry County is seeking Adams on indecency charges, Jones County has warrants for theft by taking and Chatham County is seeking Adams on accusations of public indecency and sexual battery.

After the Walmart incident, Henry police issued a lookout for man with a low haircut, a thin mustache with a slim build who was wearing all black clothing including tennis shoes. On Thursday, Ireland sent an update, saying police were looking for Adams in connection with the incident.

He is currently being held in the Putnam County jail.
