A trio of carjackers is accused of stealing a pickup truck from a man Saturday and then using that stolen vehicle to rob a teenager of his BMW at gunpoint the next day.
The teen was about to use an ATM at the SunTrust Bank off Joel Cowan Parkway when a man opened the passenger door to his white car and put a gun to his head, Peachtree City police told Channel 2 Action News.
Surveillance photos obtained by Channel 2 show the armed man jump into the teen’s passenger seat before two other men also get inside the white BMW. Police briefly chased the stolen vehicle into Coweta County, but the thieves got away.
Officers later found the car abandoned in Palmetto, Channel 2 reported.
The teen, who asked the news station to remain anonymous, said the robbers pulled up next to him in a gray pickup truck, which Walter Lee said belongs to him.
Lee told Channel 2 he was carjacked at a Burger King in College Park on Saturday afternoon.

“I felt like in some way it was my fault because it was my vehicle,” Lee said. “I hope they catch them before they hurt someone.”
