An 81-year-old man is behind bars after tens of thousands of sexually explicit images of children were allegedly found at his home, police said.
Neville Perrins, a retired businessman, had his home raided after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted Gwinnett police that someone in Peachtree Corners appeared to have downloaded large amounts of child pornography, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Police told Channel 2 they found two laptops, several thumb drives and an iPad in his home. Over 68,000 images of child porn have been found so far, and Perrins allegedly admitted to authorities that he collected the images.
Not all of the devices have been searched yet, the news station reported. Each picture could be a felony charge, and authorities expect to find more pictures on the other devices.
Police say there’s no indication that his family knew about any of this, Channel 2 reported.
Perrins remains in jail without bond on 15 counts of possessing child pornography, according to arrest warrants obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The total amount of charges is likely to increase once the full number of pornographic pictures are counted, Channel 2 reported.
