A DeKalb County man accused of abducting a high school student Tuesday may be wanted in three other recent abductions, police said.

The 14-year-old girl told school officials the man forced her into his SUV while she walked to Miller Grove High School, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

“The male drove a short distance with the victim before letting her out near the high school,” Campbell said.

In December, three other female Miller Grove students reported encounters with a male who matched the suspect’s description: 50 to 60 years old, bald, roughly 5-foot-4, according to police.

The suspect was last seen driving a light blue, mid-size SUV with a partial plate number beginning with “RIH.”

DeKalb County Schools superintendent Stephen Green said he’s grateful the young woman escaped unharmed.

“No young person deserves to be treated so callously, and we are there for her in any way we can be,” Green said. “We are equally resolute in aiding DeKalb police in getting this man off the street. He has no place in our community given the risk he poses to our children.”

Green said the families of students at Arabia Mountain High School, Lithonia and Miller Grove middle and high schools, and Fairington, Stoneview, Panola Way and Ridgeview elementary schools were notified of the abduction. Parents of students at Marbut Theme School were also notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call DeKalb police at 770-724-7710.
