Police in LaGrange have obtained arrest warrants for a man wanted in connection with the deadly shooting of an 18-year-old.

The warrants charge Dontavious Sawaye Morgan with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, according to a statement from police.

He’s accused of shooting Niko Hurston, 18, of LaGrange, two days before Christmas.

Morgan is at large. Because he may be armed and is considered dangerous, people with information about his location are asked to call 911 immediately.

Hurston was shot in the chest near the intersection of Troup and Jenkins streets and was pronounced dead at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, police said earlier. He was walking with two other people when he was shot.
