Milton police are searching for a man they say attacked a woman who was out for a jog, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, was running on Deerfield Parkway near Windward Parkway earlier this week when a man “came out of nowhere” and groped her.
“It’s not right. He’s not right,” she said Friday. “I was running like I usually do, going toward Windward, and I saw him park and get out of the car ... When we crossed, that’s when he grabbed me.”
The woman said she screamed and fought off her attacker, who ran back to his dark-colored Nissan sedan and sped off.
“I didn’t give him permission to do what he did,” the woman told Channel 2. “It was like losing my freedom in that moment. I was frustrated and I really wanted to kick his butt. I hope he gets arrested so nobody else (has to) go through this.”
What’s peculiar, authorities said, is that the man used a plastic trash bag to obscure his license plate ahead of the assault.
His would-be victim said it appears the man knew what he was doing, but Milton police are describing the attack as a “one-off” situation.
“We don’t have any reports of any similar crimes in jurisdictions around us,” Capt. Charles Barstow said, urging residents to remain aware of their surroundings at all times.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Milton police.
