An accidental gunshot rang out in the Southlake Mall food court Friday, injuring two people, authorities said.

A man was standing up from eating when a gun fired from either his pocket or waist area, City of Morrow police Chief James Callaway told AJC.com.

The "irresponsible gun owner" is accused of leaving after the bullet hit the tile floor, causing fragments of tile to hit and injure two women, according to a Facebook post by the department.

One woman was treated by Morrow Emergency Management Services in the food court and was released, while the other was taken to a Clayton County hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the post said.

Police confirmed this isn’t an active shooter scene, but they still wish to speak to the man accused of firing the gun.

“We are looking for him because we got a slew of nice charges for his dumb self,” Callaway said.

No other details have been released.
