UPDATE: The Douglas County Fugitive Warrant Division returned from Spartanburg, South Carolina on Tuesday with suspect Kenny Wayne Oliver and he was booked into the Douglas County Jail. Oliver is scheduled for bond hearing Wednesday at 8 a.m.

A man accused of cutting a woman on her neck and thumbs in her Douglasville home was arrested Wednesday, Douglas County officials said.

Sandy Archer was sleeping in her home when she woke up and saw her injuries. Kenny Wayne Oliver, 20, was living with Archer and her family at the time of the attack, Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Glenn Daniel said.

Oliver had warrants out for his arrest in connection with the Aug. 5 incident. No other details were released about the arrest.

“It’s just hard to believe that someone I’ve known since the first grade would do this to my mom,” daughter Ashley Archer told Channel 2 Action News.

Ashley Archer told the news station that Oliver asked to stay with them two months ago and her mom helped him find a job. Sandy Archer was also trying to help him get his driver’s license and a motorcycle.

Sandy Archer is expected to survive the attack, Channel 2 reported.
