A man ran onto the MARTA train tracks at the Chamblee station during a police chase Monday, leading to delays on the northbound and southbound lines, officials confirmed.

Authorities got a call around 6:30 p.m. about a man punching a wall at Interactive College of Technology, Chamblee police Lt. Jason Waasdorp told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

When an officer attempted to make contact with the man, he ran to the Chamblee station and onto the southbound tracks.

The trains were delayed at least 30 minutes.

MARTA rail service has since resumed, but Waasdorp said officers are still trying to apprehend the man, who has not been identified.

A bus bridge was put in place to take passengers between the Brookhaven, Chamblee and Doraville stations.
