Atlanta police said a man taken into custody for allegedly breaking into an apartment complex had been arrested more than 40 times before.

Authorities said felony convictions are among 43-year-old Christopher Bellamy’s prior arrests.

Police were called to a burglary at an apartment complex on Ponce de Leon Avenue on Feb. 27 after someone said two televisions were taken from the building’s common area. Officers said they reviewed surveillance footage from the incident for suspects and later arrested Bellamy, who was still in the area.

Police said when they arrested Bellamy, he had a crowbar in his possession and had three outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Bellamy’s arrest history extends back as far as 2005, when he was taken into custody on a disorderly conduct charge.

Bellamy was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Friday and charged with burglary, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, false representation to police and theft by taking.
