An alleged hit-and-run driver is in custody, accused of leaving a woman seriously injured earlier this week in Stone Mountain, according to police.

Demetric Deshawn Williams, 24, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to make immediate report of an accident and serious injury by vehicle.

Patricia Sabatelle, 66, of Stone Mountain, was hit in the 1000 block of Main Street about 3:35 p.m. Monday, Stone Mountain police said.

When police arrived, Sabatelle was lying on the street. She was bleeding from her forehead and said she couldn’t move her arm, according to the incident report.

Medical officials determined Sabatelle suffered a dislocated shoulder and other injuries to her lower torso, according to the incident report. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

She remains in critical but stable condition, police said.
