Police suspect five people injured in a shooting overnight near a well-known nightclub in northwest Atlanta were innocent bystanders.
The shooting spanned two crime scenes, one in the parking lot of Club Crucial on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and another in walking distance of the club at the intersection of Peyton and Belleview avenues, Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard said.
The incident began when two groups of people got into a dispute inside the club and were asked to leave.
They complied, and shortly after, gunfire erupted in the club’s parking lot.
Police found 64 casings with multiple calibers between the two crime scenes.
The injured victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“There is currently no evidence to suggest the victims were involved in the incident,” Pickard said.
They were in stable condition just after 7 a.m.
Police said they wouldn’t have surveillance video to assist in their search for suspects because there are no cameras in the club or surrounding area.
