Police in Carrollton are investigating a double shooting that happened Thursday night at an apartment complex near the University of West Georgia.

The shooting happened inside a unit at the Rivers Edge Apartments on Brumbelow Road, just north of the university campus.

Channel 2 Action News reported that a student living at the complex had several guests over Thursday night when three men, at least one of them armed, came into the apartment.

A struggle ensued, and two of those men were shot, one as many as 11 times, the station reported.

The third man ran from the scene, and was still at large Friday afternoon.

Neighbor Kenneth Hadley heard the commotion and came outside and saw a man lying in the grass.

“We got a guy sitting right here in the grass, he’s bleeding and half-way dead and all you hear is the officer saying, ‘I need a medic, I need a medic,” Hadley told Channel 2.

The men shot were not students at the nearby university, according to Channel 2. Their names and conditions have not been released.
