A 36-year-old Mableton man died after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning, Cobb County police said.

Joshua Heath Chellew was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance after being hit while a pedestrian on Mableton Parkway.

Police said the driver did not remain at the scene and that the only information they had is that the vehicle may have been a small and red.

Motorcyclist in critical condition after Sandy Springs hit-and-run

Sandy Springs police are looking for the driver of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee who left a motorcyclist in critical condition after crashing into him Sunday morning.

The driver of the Jeep turned in front of and hit the bike on Roswell Road at 4 a.m., according to Sandy Springs police spokesman Steve Rose. The motorcyclist, Alejandro Palombini, 22, from Buford, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

Police said the suspect fled westbound on I-285. Authorities said the Jeep is missing its grill and entire front bumper.
