The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of two men who allegedly were involved in a shooting at a home that left one man dead. Both have been arrested.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the Dec. 16 incident. Officers went to a house on Campground School Road near Dallas, where they found a man on the front porch dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
They determined that the man, Alvin Lee Jenks, 38, and two other men had gone to the house looking for another man to confront him about a previous incident, Paulding County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ashley Henson said. Authorities identified the two men who were with Jenks as Wayne Caston and Kerry Chastain.
When the homeowner told Jenks that the man they were looking for was not there, the two got into a heated argument and the homeowner went inside and slammed the door.
Jenks then began kicking in the front door and the homeowner fired several rounds from a rifle through the door and hit Jenks, Henson said.
The other two men fired back then fled, leaving Jenks, according to the sheriff’s office.
Caston and Chastain were arrested last week. Both are charged with murder, according to jail records.
