A Hall County couple is facing child cruelty and drug-related charges after hiding nearly $21,000 of methamphetamine and hypodermic needles in a diaper bag with their 4-month-old child unrestrained in their car.

Russell Ray Passmore, 38, and Megan Elizabeth Stone, 27, were arrested Sunday, after police said they found eight bags containing 190 grams of meth.

The two were booked into the Hall County Jail.

Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Lt. Don Scalia told The Gainesville Times the baby is now with the Division of Family and Children Services.

“They had the child checked out and get some medical attention out of an abundance of caution,” he said.
