A neighbor rushed a shooting victim to a hospital Tuesday morning after the man showed up at his Buckhead apartment door asking for help.
The 29-year-old victim was shot in the jaw, according to Atlanta police. He went to a neighboring unit in the Peachtree Park Apartments complex before being taken to Piedmont Hospital about 2:30 a.m.
Due to the seriousness of his wounds, he was transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital, police spokesman Officer Steve Avery said.
“The neighbor did not witness the shooting,” Avery said in a statement. “... The victim was not able to speak to investigators but was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the jaw.”
The incident is the second shooting Atlanta police have investigated at the apartment complex this year.
In February, 40-year-old Keithan Joran Hillman was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment and pronounced dead at the scene.
