Police have identified the person they believe shot and killed a grandfather of eight last month outside a DeKalb County convenience store.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Michael Hill in the Feb. 3 shooting death of Timothy Newhouse, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com on Tuesday.
Hill, 24, is wanted on a charge of murder.
According to police, Newhouse, 54, was shot in the chest as he left Soni Food Mart in the 6300 block of Memorial Drive just before 10 p.m., AJC.com previously reported.
He died at the scene near the Stone Mountain Freeway.
The suspect was caught on surveillance video running away. At the time, DeKalb police said Newhouse and Hill got into an argument before the gunfire.
Anyone with information about Hill’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
