A murder suspect is on the run with a woman believed to be in “extreme danger,” according to the Butts County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities are trying to track down 20-year-old Cody Bryce Matthews, who is considered armed and dangerous, the agency said in a Facebook post Monday.

Matthews is wanted on murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with a shooting that left a man dead. Few details are known about the shooting, which happened Sunday afternoon in the Jackson Glenn subdivision.

Officials believe Matthews has 21-year-old Autumn Keara Finlay with him. The Butts sheriff said Finlay is possibly “being held against her will.”

A reward is being offered for information on Matthews’ whereabouts. Anyone with details is asked to call the Butts sheriff’s office.
