A 20-year-old man who was wanted for murder in Lockport, Illinois, was captured at a home in Norcross, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Tariq Pinnick had been on the run since January after he allegedly shot and killed Dylann Somma, 22, in his front yard, according to a release from the Will County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois. Lockport is roughly 30 miles south of Chicago.

Gwinnett authorities got a tip that Pinnick was at a home on Gulf Terrace, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Deputy Shannon Volkodav said.

Cynthia Martinez, 38, was inside with Pinnick and was arrested on unrelated warrants from Newton and Jasper counties.

Pinnick was taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and is being held without bond, Volkodav said. According to jail records, he was also charged with giving false information.

Martinez is in the Newton County jail, according to records.

Authorities did not say what connection, if any, Pinnick and Martinez have.
