DeKalb County deputies took a murder suspect into custody Tuesday afternoon after a SWAT team was called out, authorities said.

DeShawn Martin Subar, 24, of Lithonia, was wanted in connection with the Jan. 1 slaying of Justin Bryant in Decatur, DeKalb spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said.

Tuesday’s incident happened while deputies were serving a warrant at a house on Diamond Key Road in Stone Mountain, Williams said. The suspect holed up in the attic of a house, and the standoff lasted for several hours. Residents also were evacuated.

Subar will be taken to the DeKalb County jail, Williams said.
