A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon when a driver slammed into him on the East-West Connector near Lipson Drive in Austell, Cobb County police said.

William M. Cook, 45, of Austell died at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Cook was on his yellow 1996 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle traveling westbound on the East-West Connector when police say Frances L. Swann, 80, of Powder Springs crashed her 1999 white Ford Taurus into Cook while making a left turn. Swann was traveling eastbound at the time of crash.

Swann was not injured in the crash.

No charges have been filed.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call Cobb County authorities at 770-499-3987.
