A motorcyclist from Cumming was seriously injured Monday night after he collided with an SUV, authorities said.

Sabah Salam, 33, remains at an area hospital after the wreck, which happened at the intersection of Buford Highway and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Forsyth County sheriff’s Cpl. Doug Rainwater told AJC.com.

The black 2014 Land Rover LR4, driven by a 56-year-old man from Fairburn, was turning left from Ronald Reagan Boulevard onto westbound Buford Highway, Rainwater said.

At the same time, Salam was driving a 2016 Suzuki GSX-R1000 across Buford Highway onto Ronald Reagan Boulevard from Market Place Boulevard, he said. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The crash remains under investigation. Deputies are interviewing witnesses to determine the traffic signals for both drivers.
