On Sunday, someone told Gainesville police that a man and a woman came into his room at the Motel 6 on Monroe Drive and held him at gunpoint.

The alleged thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash and the man’s iPhone, then left on foot, police said on Facebook.

However, “responding patrol units developed information that led them to the suspects at Motel 6,” police said.

Yes, the same Motel 6.

Police arrested Dalvontae Stephens, 24, of Gainesville, and Jessica Melear, 27, of Flowery Branch, without incident.

Officers recovered the victim’s iPhone and a gun.

The suspects have been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, criminal use of a firearm with altered ID, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Both are in the Hall County Jail.
