A missing Georgia woman who has her three sons with her used a card Sunday in South Carolina, Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols said Tuesday.

According to a post on the sheriff’s Facebook page, Brittany Rebecca Stewart, 28, has been missing since Thursday. Her children are 7 months to 7 years old.

Nichols told Channel 2 Action News that Stewart was seen Sunday at a gas station in Habersham County and used a food stamp card later Sunday in Greenville, S.C.

Authorities in North Carolina and South Carolina were notified, he said. Both states border Rabun County, which is about 108 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

Authorities do not believe Stewart is a danger to her children, Nichols said. However, the woman’s family is concerned about her state of mind.

Before she went missing, Stewart told family members she “needed some time to sort things out,” according to the sheriff.

She’s believed to be driving a maroon 1999 Ford Explorer with Georgia tag RCP0743, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Stewart and her children is asked to call 911 or Rabun dispatch at 706-782-6226.
