A week after a 15-year-old was killed in a shootout outside a convenience store, DeKalb County police arrested six people in connection with her death.

Roderick Harris, 17, Sharod Jackson, 18, Roderick Jackson, 18, and Michael Miller, 22, were charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault and six counts of criminal gang activity in the shooting death of Keaira Palmer. Two juveniles were also arrested in connection with the shooting, but their names were not released.

Palmer and three others were shot Aug. 3 exiting a convenience store on Glenwood Road. Palmer and two others were taken to the hospital, where she died. One of the victims remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Palmer would have been 16 on Aug. 18.

“Those arrested have shown no regard for the safety and well-being of others and this will not be tolerated in our community,” DeKalb County Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Public Safety Dr. Cedric Alexander said in a release.

A GoFundMe account was started to cover funeral costs for Palmer and is now at more than $3,300 as of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Palmer’s funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Philadelphia Independent Church of God in Christ Church on Old Jonesboro Road in Fairburn. Family and friends will have visitation at the RW Andrews Morturary from noon to 7 p.m. Friday.
