A Cobb County woman who had been in the hospital died Friday, more than two weeks after a dump truck crashed into her car.

Nicole Garrison, 30, of Marietta, had been suffering from injuries related to the March 9 crash, Cobb County police spokeswoman Officer Alicia Chilton said.

According to police, Garrison was driving on Roswell Road when a Ford dump truck — driven by Martin Palma, 48, of Rome — made a U-turn and slammed into her Mazda.

Palma, who was not injured in the crash, faces second-degree vehicular homicide and improper U-turn charges.

No other details were released.
