A Marietta man was arrested Wednesday on charges he held up a St. Louis-area casino and fired shots at an armed security guard.

Illinois prosecutors charged Daryl V. Muhammad, 42, with armed robbery/discharging of a firearm and aggravated battery with a fireman earlier this month, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Cobb County sheriff's deputies and U.S. marshals tracked him to a business on Canton Road, and he was booked into the county jail Wednesday night.

Muhammad was one of three men wanted in connection with the Sep. 17, 2017, armed robbery at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis. They are accused of wearing guns and carrying rifles when they entered the casino just before 3 a.m. and fired shots, hitting the security guard, the Post-Dispatch reported. The guard has since recovered from serious internal injuries.

While there were patrons inside at the time, no one else was injured, according to the newspaper.

The men allegedly made off with money from the casino’s cash drawers. The other two are still wanted by authorities.

Muhammad was being held without bond, jail records show, and is expected to be extradited to Illinois for prosecution.
